Vibration, Temperature, Oil, and Current Signals

Match each sensor type to the failure family it reveals and connect it to the Vibration Analyzer.

Vibration, Temperature, Oil, and Current Signals

Different sensors reveal different failure families. Match the sensor to the failure mode you are hunting.

What Each Signal Tells You

  • Vibration — imbalance, misalignment, looseness, bearing wear. The richest signal for rotating equipment.
  • Temperature — lubrication failure, overload, friction. Slow but cheap to monitor.
  • Oil condition — particle count and chemistry reveal wear metals and contamination inside gearboxes and hydraulics.
  • Motor current — electrical faults, mechanical load changes, and bearing drag without touching the machine.

Tie to the Vibration Analyzer

The OpexMX Vibration Analyzer runs FFT and SE-CNN anomaly detection on raw waveforms to catch bearing and gear faults early.

  1. Stream waveform captures from critical rotating assets.
  2. Review anomaly scores weekly; the model flags patterns humans miss.
  3. Promote confirmed anomalies into work orders with the spectrum attached.

Tips

Start with vibration on your top bad actors. It has the highest signal-to-noise for rotating equipment, and the analyzer does the heavy interpretation for you.
