Creating Different Work Order Types
Reactive, preventive, inspection, and corrective work.
Creating Different Work Order Types
Not all work is the same. Picking the right type up front keeps reports honest and triggers the right workflow.
The Main Types
- Reactive — unplanned, run-to-failure or breakdown response
- Preventive — scheduled maintenance on a calendar or meter
- Inspection — checks and audits that may spawn corrective work
- Corrective — repairs found during an inspection
Tips
Tag honestly. A "reactive" label on work that should have been preventive is a tell that your PM plan has a gap.
