How a work order closes matters as much as how it opens. Good close-out feeds accurate reports and catches follow-ups before they are forgotten.
A Proper Close-Out
- Confirm the work is actually done
- Log final parts and labor
- Record root cause and any follow-up needed
- Set the resolution and close
Tips
Capture follow-ups as new work orders now, not in someone's memory. They will otherwise resurface as emergencies.
